USC Marshall Alumni Association
Executive Board 2013/14

The USC Marshall Alumni Association (MAA) has been established to have a unique and positive value to the USC Marshall School of Business, the business community, and its members. Membership is automatically granted upon graduation to all undergraduate and graduate degree-holders of the USC Marshall School of Business and USC Leventhal School of Accounting -- more than 78,000 alumni around the world.

The MAA will utilize the foundations created by all support groups and school-related alumni organizations to build a premier membership organization for the school, enhancing the quality and reputation of the school, and allowing the members of the MAA to enhance their own education and networking opportunities that arise by contact with the school and with other members of the MAA.

Letter from Chairman Emeritus

Take the Call

It is often said that "blood is thicker than water." Fortunately, as a member of the USC Marshall Alumni Association, you are part of the largest and most dedicated "family" on earth—the Trojan Family. I’m sure you’ve all heard the expression The Trojan Family many times over during your years as a student and afterward. But what does that mean exactly?

With over 78,000 alumni, USC Marshall and USC Leventhal are an especially strong part of the extended Trojan Family. We are committed to connecting alumni with each other, creating alumni affinity with USC Marshall and USC Leventhal, and enhancing the quality, reputation and visibility of our alma mater in the business community. We are known for loyalty, leadership, and service. We show up. We get involved. We help each other. That’s who we are, and it’s what makes us great.

As a Trojan, there is an unwritten rule that you are expected to “take the call” when it comes from another Trojan that is looking for help. The USC Marshall Family is zealous about helping one another and others, both in business and in the community.

For me, this strong affiliation with each of you and with the school is a unique and precious gift. The gift offers great benefits. Need an introduction to someone on the East Coast? Done. Want to learn how something works in China? No problem. Your Trojan connection to alumni from all walks of life in more than 90 countries means help is only a phone call or an e-mail away. But, to get the full benefit of our astounding USC Marshall and USC Leventhal alumni network you need to “take the call” as well as make the call.

I’m calling on you right now to get more involved with the School and other USC Marshall/Leventhal alumni in your area. Whether you attend a networking lunch or a speaker event, join a local alumni board or volunteer as a regional representative, you will establish lifelong relationships that will enhance your career and make USC Marshall and USC Leventhal even stronger.

There are so many opportunities, which makes it easy to find a level of involvement that suits your current level of interest and availability. For some, it will be participating in an alumni event or volunteering as a mentor to students. Still others may be in a position to give back to the school and university that has made it all possible in a more tangible way.

All connections are meaningful and will pay dividends back to you, tenfold. See here for a list of some of the usual ways people enjoy getting involved.

I truly hope you enjoy your lifelong Trojan connection and make some great friends along the way. But don’t stop the good work after one experience...

Take the call--get involved and Fight On!

Fight On!
