Dean Hallett, BS '80
Marshall Partners Chairman (Partner Level); Executive Vice President, Operations and Strategy, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Fox Filmed Entertainment (FFE).
Dean Hallett is Executive Vice President, Operations and Strategy, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Fox Filmed Entertainment (FEE), where he has been a key member of the executive team and instrumental in shaping the overall strategy of the studio. In his current role, Hallett provides strategic direction and operational guidance to all FEE divisions including theatrical production, worldwide theatrical marketing and distribution, worldwide home entertainment, television distribution, digital exhibition and digital media distribution. He aligns and optimizes resources while providing guidance to each of the studio divisions as they integrate digital product offerings into day-to-day operations. Hallett also oversees strategic planning and business development, studio and post-production operations, information technology and finance. He recently launched the company's new Enterprise Operations division, responsible for streamlining like functions across all divisions. Previously, Hallett served as Executive Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of FEE, heavily involved in driving several studio initiatives including Home Premiere (a premium in-home movie service), the company-wide content management strategy, and the digital cinema strategy and rollout. Prior to joining Fox, Hallett was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the Walt Disney Studios (TWDS), a position he had held since 2000. Prior to his CFO role, he was Senior Vice President, Planning and Control for TWDS, where he drove international theatrical and home entertainment integration initiatives, served as executive sponsor for shared services of The Walt Disney Company and helped spearhead strategic sourcing and ERP initiatives for the corporation. Hallett joined The Walt Disney Company in 1990 as a Manager in the Corporate Management Audit department. He was named Director of Finance at Buena Vista Pictures Marketing in 1991 and promoted to Vice President in 1994. Hallett came to Disney from Anthony Industries, Inc. (now K2, Inc.), where he Group Controller, after spending more than seven years with Ernst & Whinney, including a one-year stint in the UK. A native of Los Angeles, Hallett received his degree in business administration from the University of Southern California in 1980.

With more than 30 years of experience in operational finance, Warren Jenson has a successful track record leading and managing businesses. He is a well-rounded business executive with consistent experience providing guidance to corporations at important inflection points in their evolution and helping them further define themselves in highly profitable new ways.
Warren has been CFO of some of the most important success stories of the last two decades including Electronic Arts, Amazon.com and NBC. In addition, Warren was twice designated one of the “Best CFOs in America” by Institutional Investor magazine, and was also awarded Bay Area Venture CFO of the Year in 2010. Warren was most recently COO at Silver Spring Networks, a successful start-up specializing in smart grid networking technology, where he had responsibility for the company’s service delivery, operations and manufacturing organizations. He also has significant experience in mergers, acquisitions and in the development and formulation of strategic partnerships.
Warren’s board position experience includes Digital Globe (NYSE: DIG), Tapjoy, Intematix, California State Summer School of the Arts, and Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. Warren received both an undergraduate degree in accounting and a Master of Accountancy from Brigham Young University.

Jeff Stallings, BS '91

Jeff Stallings has managed businesses of various sizes for close to 30 years, with two decades of experience in the dietary supplement and related industries. In 2000, Mr. Stallings assumed the role of President of MeriCal Vita-Pak, then the largest contract packaging company on the west coast. The organization has since expanded through two major mergers that have positioned MeriCal as one of the premier integrated dietary supplement contract manufacturers in the western United States. Jeff is currently active as Chaiman of the Board of the Nutrition Industry Association (NIA West) and is a past Board Member of the Drug, Chemical & Associated Technologies (DCAT). Mr. Stallings earned degrees in Economics and Business from the University of Southern California and an MBA from UCLA Anderson.

As president and CEO of Creative Productions, Deborah's entrepreneurial vision and thought leadership have kept her agency at forefront of integrated marketing solutions, employing technology as the driver for strategic and creative innovation for big brands. The company has been recognized with more than 250 awards for marketing excellence in advertising, website development, promotions, video and social media campaigns. She recently launched a new division specializing in intellectual property commercialization. Deborah holds a degree in marketing from Marshall School of Business, and an Executive Master of Leadership from the Sol Price School of Public Policy. In addition to her role as vice chairman of USC Marshall Partners South Bay/Long Beach, she is a member of the 2013-14 USC Board of Governors. Deborah and her company are the Premier Sponsor of Trojan Family Weekend, USC Football Sponsor, Presenting Sponsor of the USC vs. UCLA basketball matchup, and have been named the Official Marketing Partner of USC Sports Properties.

Paul M. Gurrola is a Director of Business Development within the Valuation & Financial Opinions Group. Mr. Gurrola is responsible for developing relationships with finance executives of public and private companies and private equity firms, managing client engagements, working with trusted advisors and continuing to build the SRR brand in the western United States.
Mr. Gurrola brings over 20 years of experience working with private equity groups and public and private companies on engagements that include tax and consulting projects, merger and acquisition services and transaction support services.
Prior to joining SRR, Mr. Gurrola was a Principal in charge of business and corporate development for Buxbaum Group, an interim CFO placement firm. Before Buxbaum Group, Mr. Gurrola was a Director at the national accounting firm of BDO USA where he was in charge of their Los Angeles business development efforts, including BDO’s West Coast private equity initiative. He currently sits on the boards of ACG Los Angeles, Girl Scouts of Los Angeles and USC Marshall Partners.

Anne Johnston is a Certified Financial Planner™ with UBS Financial Services, Inc. in Beverly Hills. Anne's clients are professionals, philanthropic organizations, and entertainment executives. She has a specialty in financial planning for clients with special needs family members. Anne has served on non-profit boards for the Friends of the Semel Institute for Neuroscience, Step Up on Second in Santa Monica, and currently Mental Health Advocacy Services in Los Angeles.
Anne is currently developing a series, "Culture Makes Money," focused on prudent money management using stories from classical literature. Anne hails from Atlanta, Georgia and relocated West to attend USC as an undergraduate. She is delighted to serve as Vice Chair for the West L.A. region of Marshall Partners.

Cathy is in her 17th year of public accounting as an auditor, including two years with Deloitte & Touch, LLP. Cathy's experience has primarily focused on serving some of Southern California Practice's largest and highest risk public filers. She has worked with companies that have emerged or filed bankruptcy as well as those with complex accounting transaction such as purchase accounting, discontinued operations, and accounting for Variable Interest Entities. Cathy has extensive experience working with US-based companies including overseeing the coordination of services provided by Grant Thornton members firms in other countries. She was also part of the GT International partner development program to focus on collaboration and issues of global engagements. Cathy was also one of three partners nominated to be part of this program representing the United States.

Scott Hodgkins is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins where his practice focuses on general company representation, including public company reporting matters, corporate finance transactions, and mergers and acquisitions transactions.
Mr. Hodgkins regularly represents public and private companies ranging in size and market capitalization from Fortune 500 to development stage companies. His expertise includes advising public company boards of directors in complex corporate governance matters. Mr. Hodgkins also regularly advises development stage companies in corporate formation and venture financing transactions and on a number of merger and acquisition transactions. Mr. Hodgkins' industry expertise includes consumer products, real estate, energy, health care and life sciences, technology with particular expertise in working with real estate investment trusts, including with respect to formation and contribution transactions.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Hodgkins was a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young LLP. While practicing as a Certified Public Accountant, his practice included both audit and tax experience, focusing principally on corporate tax matters including mergers, acquisitions and consolidated reporting issues.

Colin grew up in Manhattan Beach, CA, before attending USC. Prior to college, he raced sailboats for the King Harbor Yacht Club, winning several national championships and travelling internationally representing the U.S., ultimately becoming ranked on the world match racing circuit. At the University of Southern California, Colin became captain of the USC Varsity Sailing Team while getting a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a dual emphasis in International Relations and Entrepreneurship. After college he helped to start a successful business in the South Bay before working in the investment industry. Colin spent almost six years at Smith Barney as Second Vice President of Wealth Management. In 2010 Colin travelled to Nepal, where he hiked to Mt. Everest Base Camp to raise money and awareness for The Challenged Athletes Foundation. Colin left MSSB in 2011 to start a new venture in the marine industry providing premier yacht management, fractional ownership, and charter services to Southern California while simultaneously earning his MBA in Finance as well as a Graduate Certificate in Corporate Finance and Valuations. Colin currently works as an Associate at Houlihan Lokey, a premier global investment bank, on the Business Services team in LA.

Scott holds both an undergraduate degree and an MBA from Marshall and is the father of two Marshall graduates. Scott also received his JD from USC's Gould School of Law. Scott has practiced law for more than 30 years, exclusively as a member of Hill, Farrer & Burrill LLP, one of California's oldest law firms, located in downtown Los Angeles. Scott specializes in business related litigation, with specific expertise in contract, real estate, construction, closely-held corporation and partnership litigation. He has extensive experience in trying both jury cases and non-jury cases in the state and federal courts, as well as arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association. Beginning in 2003, Scott expanded into the field of mediation and over the past eight years has successfully assisted other attorneys and their clients in resolving more than 250 litigated disputes. From 1998 through 2002, Scott served as Managing Partner of Hill, Farrer & Burrill LLP. In addition to serving as Marshall Partners Chairman, Scott is a USC Associate, a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors of the USC Alumni Association, and a member of the Board of Leaders. Scott's volunteer activities also include membership on the Board of Elders at SeaCoast Grace Church in Cypress and the Board of Trustees of the Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.
